Welcome to” Need a Dietitian”. My name is Claire Fenlon, I am a UK Registered Dietitian with over 25 years experience.  I provide expert advice in a wide range of areas of clinical nutrition.  Advice is evidence based and tailored to your needs.
 
Why chose a dietitian.  The name Dietitian is a protected title, all registered dietitians are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council.  They must have at least an honous degree in dietetics and adhere to a strict code of conduct.  A dietitian will only give evidence based advice and their particular skill is how to translate scientific information into practical advice.  The NHS will only employ HCPC -registered Dietitians to give clinical dietary advice.  (There is no minimum standard of training or regulation for  the use of the term nutritionist). (There is no minimum training or monitoring for the use of the word nutritionist).
 
Areas of expertise:  poor appetite, anaemia, arthritis and diet, bone health, cancer, coeliac disease, constipation, dementia, dyshphagia (swallowing problems), irritable bowel syndrome, low FODMAP diet, dementia, diabetes, diverticular disease, intolerance and allergies, high cholesterol and heart health, high blood pressure, inflammatory bowel disease, neurological conditions including - MND, MS, Huntingdons, Parkinsons, Stroke, renal (kidney) disease, liver disease, PCOS, womens health, vegetarian and vegan diets, weight management,

What does a consultation involve?

A consultation will include the following.

1.  A comprehensive dietary assessment.

2.  An individualised treatment plan.

3.  An individualised monitoring and follow up package to suit your particular needs and lifestyle.

4.  Written information to support the initial consultation and follow up meetings.

Follow up / Reviews

The length of and number of follow up sessions recommended will depend upon your specific needs and requirements.

General Practitioners:  Where appropriate and with consent I will liaise with your GP to ensure they are kept up to date with relevant information. In some cases, I may require a GP referral letter prior to a consultation. This may be necessary if you have a newly diagnosed condition, a complex medical history, or the need for blood test results prior to my giving advice.

Confidentiality:  Your confidentiality is maintained at all times, and any records are kept in accordance with the  GDPR   General Data Protection Regulation.
